Attending a Board Meeting
Are you already an owner of Outpost and would like to attend a Board of Directors meeting?
As an owner, you have hired Outpost’s Board of Directors to direct the cooperative. If you wish to present something to the Board, please submit a summary of your issue and presentation, including how much time you are requesting, your name, owner number and the best way to contact you. A Board member will review your request and inform you if it will be placed on the agenda of an upcoming meeting and, if so, how much time will be allotted. At that time, the Board member will also inform you of the deadline for submitting any materials that you wish to distribute.
Also, it is helpful for them to know specifically what you are asking of the Board. For example, are you (1) just wanting to make them aware of something and don't need/want any follow up from the Board, (2) wanting them to consider something in general and let you know what they've decided, (3) asking the Board to consider a specific course of action, etc.
Outpost’s Board of Directors thanks you for your interest in the health of our cooperative. Please feel free to contact the Board regarding any questions or comments you may have. |

Board Corner
Owners, it’s our Annual Meeting – Won’t you join us?
On February 21, 2010, Outpost will hold its annual meeting of owners. If you’re an owner who regularly attends the annual meeting, we look forward to seeing you again. We have changed the format this year, which we think you’ll enjoy! If you’re an owner who has never attended an annual meeting, here are my top 10 reasons for attending Outpost’s Annual Meeting!
- Enjoy great food. Outpost’s great food samples along with food from local vendors is one of the reasons you became an owner, isn’t it?
- Shop Outpost’s first indoor farmers’ market! See what local vendors have to offer for purchase during these cold winter months.
- Find out who will be named the Outpost Owner of the Year. You never know, it could be you.
- Hear reports about how Outpost weathered the recession of 2009. As an owner of our business, you are a bit curious about that, right?
- Learn about new initiatives that will be implemented in 2010.
- Meet the Board of Directors and the general manager and ask them your questions.
- Connect with other owners who share your passion. Whether your decision to become an owner was motivated by your commitment to cooperative principles or your desire for fresh, organic food, you are likely to find someone who shares your passion among Outpost’s 14,000 owners.
- Enjoy a warm and fun-filled winter afternoon indoors with FREE brewery tours of a hometown favorite, Lakefront Brewery.
- Demonstrate your continued support for a strong food cooperative in the greater Milwaukee area.
- Be inspired by the powerful changes brought about by thousands of individuals committed to improving our food choices in southeastern Wisconsin!
I hope to see you in a few weeks. Please stop by and introduce yourself to any board member, we would love to meet you.
Kerri Hutchison, director
